Course 160 Retailing and Other Sources of Income

Retailing and other sources of income
Retail products can generate additional income. Display products in a manner that will draw customers to them while at the same time be visible to the staff to help prevent theft. Your product line will influence how your customers perceive your clinic. Select products that have been well thought out and communicate your mission statement. Products to consider include hot and cold packs, topical pain relieving products, massage gadgets (such as pressure point tools), branded oils and lotions, candles, books and tapes, etc. You will need to collect state sales tax on all retail products and correctly deposit and file the amount collected with the state Department of Revenue.
Use your computer data base to track your inventory. Keep good records of both retail and consumable products. Talk to your accountant to help you set this up correctly.
